Elevage du Taillis Madame

This is a review about the kennels, not the breeder (about which I have no opinion). I generally leave only positive reviews, so let’s start with the positive. Good manner on the phone when we were desperate to find someone to take care of our well-traveled dog after administrative problems at Eurotunnel. The owner’s wife was reassuring and accommodating in terms of drop-off and pick-up (Weds mid-afternoon to Friday early evening. Kenneled dogs are in large “stables” not small cages with access to ann enclosed outside run (which you cannot see). It seemed clean enough but is very basic (15€ per day). There were other dogs there when we dropped off our dog, but I only heard them barking. Owner’s own kennels (for his dogs/breeding facility) are at the rear of his house (better lit and likely heated). I left her usual food and he returned what was left at the end. Our dog is very at ease with strangers, and will go off on the leash with anyone. She was shaking/trembling on the back seat of the car when the owner of this facility was standing behind me. I have never seen this behavior in her. I paid for 4 days (I was originally picking up our dog early on Saturday morning, so 3 nights). There were a couple of other dogs around ours when I picked her up. The space is large but bare—nothing but a raised wooden platform for the dog to sleep on —we left her LL Bean padded fleece/canvas car mat. I have no idea whether the facility is lit or heated, but I was constantly worried about the dog being too cold. It was close to freezing at night. It is a solid brick construction, so was probably fine. I was not offered walks or play for our dog during her stay, so I suspect she received no attention for the duration of her stay. We decided to shorten our stay in the UK and returned to collect her on Friday afternoon, after a little more than 48 hours. When I collected her at 6:45pm, the owner returned her passport and her remaining food. The dog ran out of the pen and into the courtyard where she immediately peed and pooped. She jumped in the car. He offered to pick up after her but I did it and left the bag on the wall (no evident trash can). He had already gone inside the house, so I couldn’t ask what to do with it. He is clearly very engaged in his breeding work (given the conversation as he was filling outvthe paperwork). He forgot to ask for a contact number while we were traveling. The care of other people’s dogs seems very much a secondary concern. When I picked her up, her fleece pad was soaked in urine. Soaked, making me wonder if she could, in fact, get outside at all or if she was too afraid (she never pees in the house). It also means that the only thing she had to sleep on would have been wet and cold. She drank two bowls of water as soon as she got home (that is an unusual amount) and has diarrhea following her stay m. After a good bath and a day at home, she is doing better. I would not leave my dog here again, even in an emergency. The staff at the Tunnel know this not to be a good option, I discovered, but the business remains on their list. Two days was too long. I really don’t think the owner has any interest in « caring » for other people’s dogs.

Zwaar teleurgesteld waren we dat onze hond helaas het Verenigd Koninkrijk niet in mocht omdat hij 2 dagen te vroeg was gevaccineerd voor Rabiës. Maar gelukkig had dit pension plek en is hij daar goed opgevangen. We kregen een foto dat het goed met hem ging en mochten hem een paar dagen later 's avonds laat nog ophalen. Helemaal blije hond in een schoon hok.

Tuvimos mucha suerte con Richard ya que no pudimos pasar el canal con nuestro Terrier. Es un profesional serio y recomendable.

Excellent breeder! Amazing people who have amazing dogs! We got our chocolate Lab from here 9 yrs ago and she is a healthy, perfect dog with an even better temperament! Thank you Mr. Landron!

Plus jamais mes chiens ne rentrerons dans cette ferme à bisness. Très déçu du personnel très désagréable ! Le passeport d'un de mes chiens ne m'a jamais était restituer.
